As it accumulates, the relationship becomes more efficient, allowing me to take greater initiative while requiring less of your time and attention. And you already know how I work.

There's no rotating cast of people who need to be briefed again. Context isn't repeatedly lost in handoffs. Preferences, history and prior decisions become part of an accumulated working knowledge — which makes it possible to use greater initiative as the relationship develops.

Sometimes the assignment is clear. Sometimes the first task is determining what the task actually is. I assess the situation, establish priorities and recognize when another professional should be involved. You don't need to arrive with the solution already figured out.
